Welcome back to Fitness: Your Body And Mind Thank You

Over the last year, there have been a lot of changes, from the way we connect to the way we work out. And while, we here at META 45 have seen a lot of changes as well, we are feeling, bright and optimistic about our health. During the series of lockdowns between 2020 and 2021, a few of us might have found ourselves in a world of anxiety, from feeling restless and jittery to have full-fledged panic attacks. Perhaps there has been a national version of claustrophobia?

The point is that our mental health has been just as affected over this period as our physical health… We know… This is not news to anyone, but what we do want to say is that we here at META have spent our time developing classes, and routines that will best target BOTH conditions. What is going to give YOU the best bang for your buck? We could go on and on about the benefits of High-Intensity Interval Training, but you know this, right? This type of exercise helps to produce lean muscle. The more lean muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest while doing nothing at all. This is why our classes were 45 minutes, of 8 exercises that mix cardio plus strength training to give you the 36 hour afterburn, where you burn more calories at rest. We are keeping this method, AND we are building more! Like the Tabata Method, 20 second on 10 seconds off. You can lengthen or shorten to your intended desire, but the results are similar, more lean muscle, more calories burned. Now let’s talk about the mental benefits! We are excited to get back into classes, because it will not only increase those endorphins that boost a natural serotonin in the brain (the happy drug) … but it will also increase connection. Nothing like being tortured and pushing yourself among friends, n’est pas? In addition to boosting your mood, it will be nice to get out in the fresh air, in a natural environment and see all those fun members we have been missing so much for the last three to four months! So, if you join our outdoor classes, you will be gaining that muscle back, burning all those extra fun calories we all have been consuming, getting a nice dose of serotonin AND seeing a few missed faces in the process! We can’t wait to see you and give you a smile that your bum, tum, and brain will thank you for in the long run!
